Total Events is the vision of owner and operator, Richard Carrier.
In 1983 Rich moved westward to Las Vegas, NV to pursue
a career in the hospitality industry. Upon his arrival,
he enrolled and later graduated from the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas. While attending college, Rich based
himself at the Las Vegas Hilton, where he regularly produced
events for celebrities including several U.S. presidents,
Muhammad Ali, George Foreman and many others. While hosting
events for crowds of up to 10,000 developed his industry
know-how and drive. After 9 years at the Hilton,
Rich’s stellar reputation had been noticed by the
Rio, where he later became the Director of Catering & Special
Events.
In late 1997, Rich moved his family back to the Capital
Region to be closer to his roots. After working as Director
of Food and Beverage for the Crown Plaza and Director of
Convention Services for Sodexho at the Empire State Plaza,
Rich felt the need to fulfill a niche that Upstate New York area
was lacking. In 1999 Total Events was born out of the idea
that event rentals - tents and decor - could be fulfilled by a single qualified
resource, much like the companies he had worked with in
Las Vegas.
Since its conception, Total Events in Albany has experienced remarkable
growth in the industry. Total Events has built strong relationships
with corporate and residential clients alike. We believe
in going beyond the expectation of our customers to deliver
the most impressive event we can. In August 2006, Total Events
purchased a sprawling 24,000 sq/ft warehouse to house our
extensive inventory of rental tents, equipment and our interactive
event showroom.
