Decrease Stress on Your Wedding Day by Hiring a "Day-of" Event Planner

The biggest myth about day-of planners is that you don’t need one. The truth is, even if you have planned your wedding from the beginning and have superb organizational skills, the big day is a day that you should be able to enjoy without worrying about making sure that everything is running smoothly.

On that note, here are some of the benefits of hiring a day-of planner!

  • Less expensive than a full-fledged wedding planner. Since the wedding itself is most likely going to be fully or almost fully planned (vendors and venue booked, menu chosen, etc), a day-of planner will not cost you as much as someone who is tasked with planning the wedding from beginning to end.
  • He/She will have the day on a schedule. You won’t have to worry about remembering what time your hair appointment is, what time the limo will arrive, or even what time you need to wake up, if you want! Your day-of planner will design and enforce a strict schedule for the day of the wedding and the days leading up to it.
  • He/She will act as the main point of contact for vendors. You definitely don’t need your caterer calling you in the middle of everything. Your day-of planner will make sure that all phone calls are directed towards him or herself, relieving you of the task.
  • You don’t have to worry about the end of the night. When the reception is over, your day-of planner will make sure that all of your gifts are packed up and sent home, and all tips are handed out to vendors and venue staff. You shouldn’t have to worry about this!

When you hire a day-of planner, you are really obtaining a month-of planner. It is good to try to secure your day-of planner at least a month in advance, allowing time for him or her to get to know you, your fiancé and bridal party, and your plan inside and out.
