Life of an Intern

- Wednesday, June 19, 2013
From the perspective of a student, Total Events is an incredible opportunity to grow and develop the essential skills needed in the event industry. My name is Madeline and I am lucky enough to be interning at Total Events this summer. I am so excited to be a part of the company and learn from this established business.

As a Sport & Event Management major, I could not think of a better place to be. While I have only been with Total Events for a short period of time, I can attest to their excellent selection available to clients. From Chiavari chairs, an array of lighting, beautiful fabrics, black and white dance floors and more, Total Events can to transform your event into something truly magical. Whether you are hosting a conference, graduation or wedding, we can provide the special touches that will create a lasting memory. Located in the Capital District of New York, Total Events is able to provide quality service and rentals to clients throughout the state. Having worked in Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Hudson, Oneonta, Albany, Saratoga Springs, Lake George, Lake Placid and in between, Total Events will come to you.

The life of an intern at Total Events varies day to day, just as the events do. Nothing is ever exactly the same. Some days I have been on site assisting in the set up while others, I am in the office helping to prepare for an upcoming event. I have been able to see some of the beautiful venues that Total Events has worked with such as The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, The National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs and Maybee Farms in addition to “blank slate venues” that have been completely transformed by Total Event’s vast inventory of tents and specialty items. It is amazing to see how much attention and detail goes into making each event unique and special.

As the summer progresses, I am excited to see what’s in store for me. I cannot wait to work on the variety of events that Total Events handles as well as learn about the different aspects that go into each one. From tents and the outdoors to barns and ballrooms, I know that there is still a lot for me to learn but I’m thrilled for the opportunity!
